The Farm Security Administration was created as part of the Resettlement Administration. This was part of the New Deal. This was made to help poor people in farming areas. It was also made to help tenants and poor land owners.
This act would buyout farms that were not economicially viable. Which means that they would not make any money.
They set up homestead commuties where farmers would stay together as a community and work in a certain area.
1. What effects did the Farm Security Administration have on the people ?
The Farm Security Administartion tried to help people through the Great Depression. It helped people find work by making them work as a community to produce certain crops or farm supplies. The Farm Security Administration tried to decrease agricultural production and increase prices. This did't work though because the farm tenants did not make enough money to help pay their rent. This resulted in many farmers losing their farms. In the end the Farm Security Administration did not help the people in a great way but it helped them survive in a very desperate situation.
2. What effects did the Farm Security have on the economy ?
The Farm Security Administration had a positive effect on the economy. It made loans possible for farmers and tenats. Banks started to give out more loans with strict instructions to use them only for farming supplies. The Farm Security Administration had a very positive effect on the economy and may have gotten rural areas to slowly climb out of the Great Depresssion. It took awhile for this Act to gain stregth but once it did it helped the economy greatly.
